Mobile Game Development Programme
Our structured learning pathway takes you from foundational concepts through to portfolio-ready projects. Whether you're transitioning careers or building on existing skills, this programme focuses on practical application and real-world mobile game development.
Hands-On Projects
Build five complete mobile games throughout the course, each focusing on different mechanics and monetisation approaches used in commercial titles.
Platform Focus
Learn deployment processes for both iOS and Android, including app store submission requirements and platform-specific optimisation techniques.
Industry Tools
Work with Unity and related technologies that studios actually use. Plus analytics integration and performance profiling for mobile devices.
What You'll Actually Learn
The programme runs for nine months, starting October 2025. We've structured it around building progressively complex projects rather than isolated lessons. Each module builds on previous work.
Mobile Fundamentals & Setup
Touch controls, screen resolution handling, and mobile-specific constraints. Your first project is a simple arcade-style game that runs smoothly on older devices.
Game Mechanics & Physics
2D physics systems, collision detection, and creating responsive gameplay. You'll build a puzzle game with tight mechanics and intuitive controls.
UI Systems & Progression
Menus, level selection, save systems, and player progression. This module includes designing reward loops that keep players engaged without manipulative patterns.
Monetisation & Analytics
Ad integration, in-app purchases, and ethical monetisation design. Plus setting up analytics to understand player behaviour and retention metrics.
Polish & Publishing
Optimising performance, reducing build sizes, and preparing store listings. The final project involves publishing a game you've built from scratch.
Programme Instructors
Our teaching team brings experience from mobile game studios and ongoing development work. They've shipped titles and understand what skills translate to professional environments.
Callum Hislop
Lead Instructor
Worked on casual mobile titles for six years. Specialises in UI systems and player retention mechanics. Previously at a Birmingham-based studio.
Emrys Glyndwr
Technical Instructor
Focuses on optimisation and performance profiling. Has shipped games on both iOS and Android, with particular experience in puzzle and strategy genres.
Torin Blackwell
Monetisation Specialist
Handles the business side of mobile games. Teaches ethical monetisation design and analytics implementation. Runs an independent mobile studio.

Programme Details & Enrolment
Classes run Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with optional Saturday workshops for extra project time. We keep cohorts small so everyone gets proper attention during development sessions.
